I want to participate. How does it work?
Actors can sign up at any time. Submissions are accepted from around May to July.

During the Qualifiers, participants post their videos online and submit their entry via our site. Our judges pick the best performances in each category to perform in our Regional Finals, with the best of the best heading to the Global Finals.

All registered actors are sent information on how to participate when entries open.

What are rules for entry submission?
Video submissions needs to be a new recording created specifically for WMG competition dated as per the specified date announced each year. Re-uploading of previous recordings will not be allowed. We will check the internet for copies of your recording (including but not limited to YouTube, Vimeo and social media) if you progress past the Qualifier round. Any entrant found to contravene this condition will be disqualified.

The duration of the monologue MUST fall within the time limit of the category in which the submission is made, otherwise the entry will be disqualified.

Submissions must be one continuous shot, rather than using multiple takes, camera angles or otherwise cutting footage together.

All videos must be monologues, with only the main performer visible at any time and no additional voices, extras or any audial/visual input in any way from another person. No music or sound effects may be added.

How much does it cost to enter if I miss the deadline or if I want to submit more than one performance?
Everyone gets a free entry at World Monologue Games, but your free entry will expire if it hasn't been used before the main deadline.

If you miss the main deadline, or want to submit multiple entries, you can purchase an entry up which must be used before the late deadline. Entries cost:

1x for $7.95 USD
3x for $18.50 USD
5x for $23.95 USD

You can purchase entries from the Member shop. You will need a (free) Member account to access the shop.

What are the prizes?
WMG is proud to be able to offer prizes to our winners. Our Podium Finishers (top 3) across all 6 categories will share a prize pool of cash...so there  are 18 cash prizes up for grabs!

We also have prizes from our partners, such as memberships to acting services and 1-on-1s with Casting Directors.

Who can participate?
Anyone anywhere in the world.

What are the categories?
World Monologue Games has categories based on monologue duration, pro/amateur status and age. The main categories are:

Main Professional: 1 - 2½ mins
Main Amateur: 1 - 2½ mins
Endurance: 5 - 10 mins
Sprint: 45 - 60 secs
Youth: (12 - 17): 1 - 2½ mins
Tigers: (5 - 11)*: 1 - 2½ mins

* Parental permission required for Youth and Tigers categories.

I'm turning 12/18 this year. Should I enter Tigers/Youth/adult categories?
If you are under 12 before the Late Deadline, you must enter the Tigers category.
If you are aged 12-17 before the Late Deadline, you must enter the Youth category.
If you are 18 or over before the Late Deadline, you must enter the adult categories.

Can I submit an existing video?
No, it needs to be a new recording which has been made after the opening date of the competition. World Monologue Games is about the work you create for the event, not something you filmed in the past.

I've signed up already. How do I submit?
We are not yet open for submissions for 2024. They are usually open around May of each year!
You can sign up and become a WMG Member at any time. This will get you 1x free entry into the Games each year.

I've signed up but haven't heard from you. What's going on?

What level of quality should our videos be?
Do the best you can.

At a minimum, we need to be able to see and hear you clearly. While we won't be judging you based on the video quality, poor footage certainly won't help.
