Terms and Conditions of World Monologue Games Challenges
GENERAL TERMS FOR ALL WORLD MONOLOGUE GAMES CHALLENGES
1. The Promoter is World Monologue Games.
2. Information on prizes and instructions on how to participate in any World Monologue Games Challenges (WMG Challenges) generally, or specific to a Challenge, form part of these Terms and Conditions.
3. By entering and participating in WMG Challenges, entrants are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
4. Participation is voluntary and entrants agree to participate exclusively and entirely at their own risk.
5. By entering or preparing to enter WMG Challenges, entrants agree to hold the Promoter harmless and indemnify them in conjunction with any disability, death, loss or damage to person or property that may occur as a result of engaging in any activities in relation to all WMG Challenges.
6. All times and deadlines are based on the time zone for Sydney Australia. Note that different time zones change at different times throughout the year. You agree to take responsibility for researching when any deadline is in your local time zone.
7. Video submissions needs to be a new recording created specifically for the WMG Challenge you are participating in. Re-uploading of previous recordings is not allowed. We will check the internet for copies of your recording (including but not limited to YouTube, Vimeo and social media).
8. Scripts must be memorised. Entrants are not allowed to read off the script (whether in print or digital form) in their video performances unless explicitly permitted to do so in a specific WMG Challenge. The Promoters reserve the right to make the determination based on the Entrant’s submitted video performance.
9. Submissions must be one continuous shot, rather than using multiple takes, camera angles or otherwise cutting footage together. Submissions which are not one continuous shot will be disqualified.
10. All videos must be monologues, with only the main performer visible at any time and no additional voices, extras or any audial/visual input in any way from another person. No music or sound effects may be added.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to re-publish the videos submitted for the Challenges on the Promoter's website, social media accounts or elsewhere as it sees fit.
12. Scripts given to Entrant as part of WMG Challenges are for their own use as audition monologues. Performance permission is granted to the Entrant only and no other person or third party is granted this permission. This performance permission does not grant any other rights to Entrant beyond using the script for auditions or World Monologue Games. The IP and copyright of the scripts remain with the IP owner.
13. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with this competition or use of, or participation in, the prize.
14. All prize winners agree to the use of the videos and their name for publicity and promotion purposes, without compensation.
15. Unless expressly stated, all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner.
16. If any prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
17. If, for any reason, a winner does not take the prize or any part of the prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that part of the prize will be forfeited.
18. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or credit and no exchanges are offered. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize (or part thereof) by its sponsors.
19. The Promoter collects personal information from the entrants to enable the Promoter to administer and promote this Competition and the winner. The details of the winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting the Promoter, including staff and prize suppliers. Entrants who fail to provide all requested information may be determined by the Promoter, at its sole discretion, to be ineligible to win a prize. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
20. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials for WMG Challenges.
21. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in misconduct. In those instances, there will with no recourse and no correspondence will be entered into.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and/or ban any individual who the Promoter deems to be behaving in an abusive, aggressive, defamatory or otherwise antisocial manner towards WMG staff, judges, volunteers or towards other Entrants, viewers or other stakeholders of WMG.
23. The Promoter may in its absolute discretion modify, suspend or terminate any of the Challenges or competition without notice.
24. Refund policy
a. All requests for refunds must be sent to us via email to info@artsbusinessacademy.com.
b. For Challenges purchased individually, we offer:
i. Full refund up to 1 month before the event start date;
ii. 50% refund up until 14 days before the event start date;
iii. 25% refund up until 7 days before the event start date;
iv. There is no refund if the email request is received after 7 days before the event start date;
c. We offer a full refund for 2023 Bronze and Golden Tickets up to 7 days before 1st January 2023. The request must be received by us no later than 25th December 2022;
d. Customers who purchase a 2023 Bronze or Golden Ticket cannot receive a refund on any individual Challenge for any reason.
ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR SPECIFIC WORLD MONOLOGUE GAMES CHALLENGES
Last Man Standing (LMS)
1. All entrants must complete the mandatory Pilot 7 days prior to the event. This ensures you are able to access the portal and submit without any issues. We do not accept "the website wasn't working" as an excuse for late submissions unless everyone is affected.
2. LMS 2023 begins on 1st November 2023 at 12:00am AEDT, which is the time zone for Sydney Australia. Entrants must fill the submission form correctly and entries must be received by the Promoter by 11.59pm Sydney (AU) time each day. Note that time zones may change midway through the event.
3. All videos of the performances must be uploaded on YouTube. The video needs to be uploaded (and submitted) before 11.59pm Sydney (AU) time each day. We will use the YouTube timestamp as proof of this.
4. If a submission deadline is missed, it is not possible to submit that same performance at a later time. Entrants agree to take responsibility for ensuring all submissions are received prior to any submission deadline or they will have to skip that particular submission.
5. ALL videos must be left as public or unlisted on YouTube for the ENTIRE duration of the event. Any private videos will be automatically disqualified and you will be considered to have missed that day's submissions. This will also result in a reset of your streak and will affect your Challenge points and belts.
6. Video submissions need to be a new recording created specifically for the LMS Challenge. Re-uploading of previous recordings is not allowed. We will check the internet for copies of your recording (including but not limited to YouTube, Vimeo and social media). Any entrant found to contravene this condition will be disqualified.
7. The judges' decision is final and binding. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.
Monologue Deep Dive
1. All entrants must select a monologue of their choice prior to the start date of the event.
2. Monologue Deep Dive begins on 15th April 2023 at 12:00am AEDT, which is the time zone for Sydney Australia. It runs until 28 April.
3. All entrants are asked to submit a "Test monologue" prior to the start date of the event to ensure adequate time to address any technical issues before the event has begun.
4. All videos of the performances must be uploaded on YouTube.
5. If a submission deadline is missed, it is not possible to submit that same performance at a later time. Entrants agree to take responsibility for ensuring all submissions are received prior to any submission deadline or they will have to skip that particular submission.
Race To 100
1. Race To 100 2023 begins on 1st January 2023 at 12:00am AEDT, which is the time zone for Sydney Australia. The event closes on 31 December 2023 at 11:59pm AEDT, after which time no further submissions will be accepted.
2. All videos of the performances must be uploaded on YouTube.
3. ALL videos must be left as public or unlisted on YouTube for the ENTIRE duration of the event. Any private videos will be automatically disqualified and the entrant will be required to submit a new performance of the monologue in order to proceed with the event.
4. If any of the filming requirements are not met with a particular monologue (e.g. must be a new recording, must not contain cuts/edits), that monologue will be disqualified and the entrant will be required to submit a new performance of the monologue in order to proceed with the event.
5. Video submissions need to be a new recording created specifically for the Race To 100 Challenge. Re-uploading of previous recordings is not allowed. We will check the internet for copies of your recording (including but not limited to YouTube, Vimeo and social media). Any entrant found to contravene this condition will be disqualified. Entrants may be required to include a specific object, or a drawing of the same, which is physically visible in their video.
6. The judges' decision is final and binding. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.
2023 Workout Pack
1. The 2023 Workout Pack is available from 1st January 2023 at 12:00am AEDT, which is the time zone for Sydney Australia. The event closes on 31 December 2023 at 11:59pm AEDT, after which time no further submissions will be accepted. All Workout Pack Challenges must be completed prior to the closing date.
2. All videos of the performances must be uploaded on YouTube.
3. If any of the filming requirements are not met with a particular monologue (e.g. must be a new recording, must not contain cuts/edits), that monologue will be disqualified and the entrant will be required to submit a new performance of the monologue in order to proceed with the event.
4. Video submission needs to be a new recording created specifically for the Workout Pack Challenges. Re-uploading of previous recordings is not allowed. We will check the internet for copies of your recording (including but not limited to YouTube, Vimeo and social media). Any entrant found to contravene this condition will have their entries removed. Entrants may be required to include a specific object, or a drawing of the same, which is physically visible in their video.
5. Entries offered a spot in World Monologue Games livestream events are selected entirely at the discretion of the Promoter.
